I am honoured to dj at the kick-off milonga of the 9th Phantastango and guide you into the camp with my music. You will hear a colorful mix of Tangos, Milongas and Valses. Later in the night a few more Non and Neo Tangos will probably occur - framed by Tandas and Cortinas. I am really looking forward to you... Dance till the very end and beyond! Yours, Eric

...to melt music and dancers into a symbiotic link, the tandas lead through the different Tango eras. Preference at the big, classic orchestras... but not only...

Tanguero/dancer since 2001, intensive and passionate... still... DJ since 2007, then mainly in my region but also at our Dutch neighbours, now everywhere in Germany, about 60 DJ sets per year - marathons and festivals, partly with live orchestras.

In 2000 I started dancing tango. Music has always been my fuel. Therefore it should be appealing and challenging. I love the funny Biagi, the feel-good Rodriguez, the smooth de Angelis, the surprising Canaro, Just to mention a few.
I started DJ-ng last year. So far I played 4 times, in Taboe, ElCorte, Scala and in Tangoland all in Holland. For me it is most important that the floor is happy and harmonious. To me traditional tango is much richer than electronic. Notango can be as nice once in a while. I like to play tanda’s of traditional tango, with now & then a track of neo or notango to keep it fresh. TTVTTM with continua’s. 10-20% not traditional.

I like to dj as I would love to dance in a milonga. As a DJ I am a keen observer of the energy on the dance floor. The journey of the night will lead through some fine pieces of the golden era, all nicely sliced into tandas and cortinas and as the night unfolds there might occur some other musical colours, too...
I started DJing in 2004 in my own little milonga in Dresden. From being quite alternative in the beginning, I soon discovered what traditional tango has to offer for dancers. But my key motto is - I am there for the dancers and not vice versa;-)
I am really looking forward to 'change sides' for one night from organizer to DJ and to play for you!

Duo Tono DJTJ Thomas Jordan & DJ Norbert Horn (Dresden)
The Duo TONO is formed by two goopy collectors of 78rpm tango records of wich they'll present you the most beautiful ones.
Meanwhile they have piled up about 1200 grammophone records mainly in mint condition! And really, you can hear the difference in the sound between the original and the file from your computer even if  tracks were remastered.
You'll hear all the famous orchestras of the 'Golden Era' from Angelis to Vargas, wonderful records from the läte 20s and 30s, some lost or undiscovered tracks of no-name orchestras but also one or another tango from European orchestras.

For me it is important to offer different styles and atmospheres of the tango to the dancers on the 'pista' - so that everyone can find something for her/him - from grounded to lyric-melodic or playfully rhythmic to powerfully dynamic. I mainly want to invite you to dancing to tangos of the Epoca de Oro, also some tandas from the 20s and the late 50s as well as the 2000s. My djing follows the TTVTTM pattern divided by cortinas. About 70% will be vocal tangos. At the end of the night (better - the morning) - maybe even a bit earlier? - non-tangos and more experimental music will occur following the PHANTASTango tradiion. I am really looking forward to djing for you for the first time at the Pfaennerhall...

Nico Loco (Dresden)
Today's set meal consists of handpicked Tandas, served between different Cortinas. The ingredients for both the starter and the main dish are mainly selected Tangos, Valses and Milongas of the traditional Argentine cuisine. Especially for the later courses I add fresh ingredients for all tastes. Enjoy your meal!
* All ingredients are organically grown. Since this is a natural product, the percentage of the fixings might differ somewhat. Might contain traces of nuts. We are again looking forwad to Nico's special menu!

I like to build up the evening carefully, offering lots of variation in the type of music I play. I pay a lot of attention to the needs of the dancers, and enjoy playing with the energy on the floor. Because of this, I make my playlist on the fly, never before the milonga.
I play mainly traditional, TTMTTV, ranging from 1920s to 1950s music. I have a preference for melodical, intricate and playful music. Occasionally I like to play a single "special" to enhance the atmosphere! Later, when the party mood is firmly established I like to play some more non-tango. I rarely play electronic tango, but occasionally play new music from current orchestras. Looking forward to seeing you!

Isolde Kanikani (Utrecht)
Hi guys, I have been djing since 2003 alongside teaching workshop weekends and traveling to many places across europe and further afield. i Have my own regular once a month Milonga in Utrecht called ENSUENOS and it takes the shape of a traditional tango salon with a twist. I dj with cortinas and tandas with 100% traditional music or alternatively 80% traditional 20% alternative if organisers prefer more of a mix. i am happy to do both. Isolde

I very much like both the traditional tango and the modern tango from the streets of Bs As therefore I love to play both for the dancers. I especially like to offer modern sounds of our life for free tango interpretation. Tango is what we make of it!
I am looking forward to all of you! Yours, Maria
