El Cachivache (Buenos Aires)
Vito Venturino (guitar)
Pablo Montanelli (piano)
Negro de La Fuente (bandoneon)
Pacha Mendes (double bass)
Nico Franco (violin)
The
Cachivache Quintet is currently one of the most popular tango groups
and is widely recognized on the world music circuit. Sometimes called
'Tango Punk' ', the group is characterized by its undeniably creative,
original, and very “danceable '' style.
In 2008, two
Argentinian musicians living in Spain, Vito Venturino (guitar) and
Pablo Montanelli (Piano) reconnect with their Porteñe roots and form
the group Cachivache. They quickly attract attention in Europe and Asia
for their very distinctively modern style. Once resettled in Buenos
Aires, they begin to compose original pieces while also at the same
time continuing to thrill dancers and fans of classic tango
arrangements with an undeniably contemporary sound.
Greatly implicated in the Buenos Aires tango dance community, they hold
their own milonga once a week where the orchestra plays often and the
musicians Dj. Every year "El Cachivache" is touring all over the world
- now they have played more than 800 shows in more than 50 countries on
3 continents.
Don't miss
their musicality seminars for dancers as well as their cute music videos on their website.
